Last updated: 13th August, 2025
At The Fact Pilot, we are committed to providing all customers with high-quality, reliable, and secure AI-powered investigation services. This Acceptable Use Policy explains the standards and limits that ensure fair and reasonable use of our platform by all users.
1. Purpose
- Ensure stable and consistent service for all users.
- Prevent misuse or excessive use that may negatively impact other clients or system performance.
- Protect the integrity, security, and availability of our platform.
2. What Constitutes Fair Use?
- Our platform is intended for standard, day-to-day use by factual investigators, insurers, and professional clients in the ordinary course of their business.
- Fair use means:
- • Using the platform for its intended, lawful purpose only.
- • Staying within the typical usage levels for your subscription tier (e.g., reasonable number of audio uploads, transcription hours, data storage, and user accounts as specified in your plan).
- • Not engaging in behaviour that puts excessive load on our infrastructure (e.g., automated scraping, bulk data extraction, or abuse of API endpoints).
3. Examples of Unfair or Prohibited Use
- Attempting to bypass platform security, access unauthorised data, or interfere with other users’ services.
- Sharing your login details or account with unauthorised individuals or organisations.
- Using the platform for non-professional, fraudulent, unlawful, or bulk commercial purposes unrelated to factual investigation or reporting.
- Uploading unusually large volumes of data, running high-frequency automated scripts, or otherwise using the platform in a way that exceeds the expected usage for your plan.
- Using the platform to store or process prohibited or illegal content, including but not limited to material in breach of privacy laws, intellectual property rights, or other regulations.
4. Monitoring & Enforcement
- We monitor usage patterns and may take action if your usage exceeds what is reasonable for your subscription or negatively impacts system stability or other users.
- If we identify excessive or prohibited use, we may:
- • Contact you to discuss your usage and find a solution.
- • Request that you reduce usage or upgrade your plan.
- • Temporarily suspend or restrict access to certain features.
- • Terminate your account for persistent or serious breaches.
5. Amendments
- We may update this Fair Usage Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notice. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
